The Blade Moon Rises

Once a year, the harvest moon climbs full over the forge. In the old houses, a blade was laid at the threshold that night — not to strike, but to stand watch.

October 24 – November 2 · while the moon is full

A blade at the door

Across Japan and China, the turn toward winter has long been a season for remembering — ancestors honored, thresholds guarded, the boundary between worlds said to thin. A sword at the pillow. A jian raised in a Daoist rite. Not weapons in that moment, but wards: steel asked to keep watch so the household could rest.

MoonSwords was built on that same idea of a blade as inheritance — something a family keeps, not something a season sells. For nine nights around the Blade Moon, we open a small part of the forge's calendar early: pieces from Zhao Peiyan and the artisans trained under him, ready before the season most people start looking.

Three ways in

Every tier is hand-forged. What changes is the steel, the fittings, and how long the piece spent in the fire.
